Trust Me—Buy These 18 Boots

Trust Me—Buy This is a monthly series where our market editor Nicole Eshaghpour makes her favorite real-life fashion finds shoppable for Who What Wear readers.

Hello and welcome to another Trust Me—Buy This story! In case you’re new here, today I’ll be sharing my favorite items of the moment with more of a personal spin than your usual roundup. With a little help from my shopping-focused Instagram account, @trustmebuythis, where I post my own (mediocre) snaps of items I’m into at the moment, I get to both show and tell you about some of my most-loved fashion items in a range of categories.

Next on the docket? Boots! After all, it is October, which means that not only should your fall wardrobe be well on its way to coming together (or at least getting close to it), but it’s also officially not too early to start planning for winter—and both seasons rely heavily on this one category of footwear. On that note, below you’ll find a few things. First, some of the pairs I’ve purchased in seasons’ past and am already bringing back in the rotation for 2020. Next, quite a few more new styles which I’ve been eyeing as of late and hope to narrow down for my own purchasing purposes soon. And, lastly, some real-life snaps that both show and prove just how obsessed with boots I really am, hopefully compelling you to simply trust me on this one. So to get started taking all of that and more in, keep on scrolling.

These chunky (but not too chunky) boots were my go-to last year and are back in my rotation this time around, too.

Lug-sole boots are one of the best recent trends to happen to NYC girls and this pair from Mango looks like it can handle any weather the city throws at us.

If you’ve yet to come around to the knee-high boots resurgence, this pair from Staud must convince you.

One of the biggest shoe trends from the F/W 20 runways? You guessed it, thigh-high boots, and no one did it better than Proenza Schouler.

My velvet Dr. Martens and I had a good run, but this all-black leather pair is high on my wish list right now.

For subtler but still chunky everyday boots, I would consider this sleek pair from & Other Stories.

I’m super picky about high-heeled boots, but this Wandler pair really stole my heart with its square toes, wide (aka comfortable) heels, and narrow shafts.

Another solid option for hitting on this season’s over-the-knee boot trend is this pair from Stuart Weitzman. I love the height and slightly utilitarian feel.

At 5’2″, I tend to opt for a block heel when it comes to everyday boots, and this height (combined with the square toe) is perfect.

H&M always has the most appealing, ultra-affordable styles.

Staud’s fall boot collection is so good this year, I had to include them twice. I couldn’t help it when I saw this edgy, Chelsea boots–style pair.

If you want to look especially on-trend this season, statement-making (but also practical) rubber knee-highs are the way to go.

Another style I find myself extremely drawn to is the suede knee-high style. They work for day or night are a nice addition of texture to an outfit.

Somehow, Isabel Marant manages to make the western boot feel more and more forward-feeling season after season. If I buy into the trend this year, a knee-high version will definitely be the way I go.

The square-toe, mid-height, heeled ankle boot should really be called a wardrobe basic at this point—although this pair from Manu Atelier feels anything but.

Buy these sleek boots and you’ll come back to them year after year.

This was one of the last pairs of boots I bought last year and the first one I wanted to wear again this fall. They’re just so easy, comfortable, and truly go with anything.

If I could splurge on any new pair of black ankle boots right now, I can’t think of any that would beat these.
