This “Beauty And The Beast” Theory Perfectly Explains THAT Plot Hole

1. If you’ve seen the live-action Beauty and the Beast, then you probably know A) it’s a pretty solid homage to the animated film and B) it also has a few new ~twists~. Although, fair warning…

2. Okay, so let’s talk about one of the big changes in the new film – the reveal at the end that some of the villagers are actually long lost family members of servants in the Beast’s castle.

Like Mr. Potts (above) and Cogsworth’s wife!

3. Now, according to the film, it’s been MANY years since the curse was originally cast. And while we know the Beast and the servants didn’t age (e.g. Chip is still a child when he turns back to human form), it seems like kind of a plot hole that the villagers appear to be as young as their cursed family members.

7. During Belle’s “Little Town” song she knows everyone’s daily routine perfectly and is bored by all the predictability in town because it literally is the same.

Heck, she even sings, “Ev’ry morning just the same, since the morning that we came.”

8. Speaking of Belle and Maurice, they’re exempt from the time loop because they moved into town after the curse was set.

Which could be another reason why the villagers think they’re “odd.”

9. And the enchantress stayed in the village all these years under the guise of local spinster Agathe JUST to maintain her spell on them!

Makes sense, right?

10. This time loop theory is definitely new and a bit alarming, but I have to admit, it’s still pretty cool.
