The Only 4 Tops You Need to Look 100% on Trend This Spring

There’s no doubt that in the past year, tops have become the prominent centerpiece in our daily outfits as we continue to spend a great deal of time on Zoom/Facetime/Google Hangouts etc. My wardrobe has certainly had a rebirth of nice tops to pair with everything from my sweats, jeans, and the occasional pajama bottoms.

Since tops are making our outfits come to life these days, what are the styles set to reign for the new spring season ahead? While there were plenty of cool top trends in the spring 2021 collections, four styles stood out whose presence was dominant. Some tops are perfect for the warmer temps ahead, others lean into comfort and others are a welcome departure to the conventional sweatshirts we’ve been living in for the past few seasons. Below, I’m sharing some of the top styles set to be everywhere come spring. Whether we can hopefully show them off in IRL or perhaps just Instagram, it’s time to reinvigorate our look with these cool spring top trends below.

If the S/S 21 collections told us anything it’s that skin in for the new season—as evidenced by an abundance of cropped top styles styled with everything from relaxed trousers to skirts. Bandeaus, in particular, had a huge presence styled under spring raincoats, leather jackets, and blazers.

Tissue-thin second skin tops continue their popularity into spring. Whether you opt for one in a playful print or choose a sheer solid color to wear with your jeans, they’ll keep you looking 100% on trend for the season ahead.

Cute polo-style tops have been gaining momentum for the past few seasons and this spring they’re set to reign supreme. Whether you opt for short or long sleeves, the retro top will add a casual-cool touch to your shorts, skirts, and jeans this spring.

We couldn’t bypass the subtle yet striking tie-details that had an overwhelming presence in the spring collections. Crisscrossing cords and wraparound ties were spotted on everything from bralettes to blouses. We see this being an Insta-winner come summer.
