The It List: Everything Our Editors Are Buying This Month

It’s felt like a long old month, hasn’t it? It seems like it was only a moment ago that we were celebrating the new year and before you know it, we’re hurtling towards autumn (though believe me, there are no complaints here). In celebration of the last few months of the brighter, lighter and hottest season, the shops are currently full of holiday-ready pieces and warm-weather wardrobe staples, and we’ve been hard at work searching through everything the stores have to offer to uncover some hidden gems.

Looking for the perfect summer dress? Some designer-looking sandals? Or maybe just an editor-approved beauty buy that really works? Fear not, we’ve got you covered. The It List is our rundown of all of the pieces that our editors are actually adding to their baskets this month, and we think they’re so good they’re worth sharing with you (but let’s just keep them between us).

This month there’s plenty of double-tap worthy pieces, from designer It bags to stylish new tech buys. We’ve even thrown in some great shoes and the useful travel accessories we can’t be without. Sound good? Keep scrolling for team Who What Wear’s top picks for July, and as always, happy shopping.

“I’d be happy with any Loewe bag, but the Paseo has had me since its arrival onto the runway last year. It has everything I want and need in an understated everyday style, now I just have to save up for it…”

“I hadn’t found a single pair of comfortable ballet flats until Essen entered the chat. In that super-expensive shade of butter yellow, I’m going to wear these on repeat. Consider me a flat-shoe convert.”

“Always here for more gold jewellery, and this is a new designer that has caught my eye. A great mix of ‘80s glam with more modern, minimalistic touches. I’ve already worn these countless times since buying them at the start of the summer.”

“I’m still holding onto summer’s romantic feels, but a high-coverage dress like this can work well into the autumn. I’d add red knee boots for a full ‘70s aesthetic.”

Take one key summer trend (the tank top), add a classic twist (the midi dress), and voila. The easy kind of throw-on-and-go instant outfit that is guaranteed to get compliments. And, as an added bonus, it comes in black too.

“After using the same pair of headphones for the last few years, I’ve finally caught up with the times and cottoned on to the prowess of a good pair of wireless earbuds. While my partner still hunts around for his missing Airpod, I’ve invested in Audio Technica’s better fit and crystal clear sound quality. It only makes them better that they come in six different colours too.”

“It’s not often that I try a beauty product and have such quick results that I immediately tell of my friends and family, but after trying just about every facial in the book in an attempt to get the covetable ‘glass skin’ look, after just one week of using Bioeffect’s Power Serum and Hydrating Cream, I’ve finally ditched the foundation and let my naturally brighter skin do the talking. No exaggeration.”

“Just like everyone else on Instagram I’m obsessed with Dragon Diffusion, and this latest colourway is no exception. Summer in a basket bag.”

“Stella McCartney’s cleanser has recently become a firm favourite in my skincare routine. Not only does it remove makeup easily, but it also feels so refreshing on the skin and has left me with a smoother, brighter complexion after just a few uses. A beauty hero!”

“These chic heels are right at the top of my wish list this month. I’m waiting for payday to take the plunge, but I know they’ll be a great investment as I can wear them with trousers, dresses, jeans and skirts. Now to just decide between the black and the white…”

“Australian brand Posse recently launched on Matches and I’ve got my eye on these fab linen trousers. I’m normally a dress person, but there’s something so cool about the paperbag waist on these. I’d grab a size up and would pair them with a linen shirt or blazer.”

“I have a weakness for dresses with pockets, and everything about this Free People dress screams perfection to me. It’s a piece I know if I buy now, I’ll love forever.”

“Aligne’s new season in packed full of pieces I need for for next season like this leather midi skirt. Dressed up or dressed down, I just know it will play a key role in my autumn wardrobe.”

“Gone are the days where I’ll reach for a teeny weeny bag that can barely fit my phone or wallet. These days, I’m all about practicality so it makes sense that this sling bag has ended up on my wish list this month. It’s the perfect size for carrying your belonging and stomping around on holiday.”

“If I’m being honest, I want more than half the dresses from SIR right now, but can easily say that this off-the-shoulder number is in my top 3 favourites. The linen material is perfect for this season and I just adore the unique tie detail of the shoulder–it definitely gives it an elevated feel. I need this for my next holiday!”

“The denim skirt sags isn’t quite over for me just yet. I’m still very much into the styles that flare out and give volume and this Raey one delivers in spades. This will be a key wardrobe piece going to autumn.”

“I think I may have found a pair of Adidas trainers that could potentially compete with my Adidas Sambas. I love the casual and cool look to this style, and the neutral colour will go with a lot outfits I wear frequently.”

“I love this versatile striped shirt on its own, but I love it even more as a co-ord with the matching trousers. So chic.”

“I’ve got a few more weddings to attend this summer, and this buttery, silky dress is calling to me. I just know I’ll look forward to pulling it out next year too.”

“I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect navy boyish blazer for years, and I think I might have just stumbled across the holy grail in Reiss’s new-in section.”

“Forgive me for getting ahead of myself, but these ongoing summer showers mean that trench season has arrived much earlier than any of us thought it would. I’ll be making the most of it by investing in this perfect style from Aligne that I missed out on last year.”

“Between the silhouette and the colour, this skirt will help me begin to transition all of my summertime wares to autumn. The first look I’m thinking of involves my cream cropped Zara blazer and black minimal sandals.”

“Of all the ’90s jewellery trends that could have made a comeback this season, I’m so glad it’s the black cord necklace. This Otiumberg interpretation presents a sleek way to tackle the nostalgia. Into the silver trend, too? You’ll be pleased to hear this style also comes in silver.”

“Massimo Dutti is fast becoming my go-to for expensive-looking accessories, with this shoulder bag heading straight to the top of my wish list. It comes in a handful of very chic, very versatile colours; my favourite being this wear-with-anything ecru.”

“I’ve recently gotten my ears pierced (I know; I’m very late to the game), and am currently on the lookout for some investment hoops that I can wear and love forever. This pair from 886 is just stunning; Simple, chic and the type of jewellery I’d never want to take off.”

“I love this asymmetrical dress from Anthropology. White dresses are ideal for summer, and the cutout detail on the side feels really fresh and current.”

“It’s reached the point where I can no longer deny my love for Skims. I’m officially a fan girl. I have the viral dress, the shapewear and the swimwear. Baby tees are all the rage this summer so although I have this in white, I’m also adding the black to my wishlist.”

“I’m not big on star signs but something in me is yearning for this Missoma necklace. I think it’ll be a great addition to the set I currently wear non-stop.”

“I’ve been slowly turning my very print-heavy wardrobe into something that is more versatile, and so I’m constantly on the lookout for more neutral, plain items that still feel a little bit unique. This comfy, heatwave-proof dress from the premium range at Nobody’s Child ticks all the boxes.”

“I’ve been religiously wearing Tevas for the past four summers now, but it felt like time to make a change. For something equally comfy but a smidgen more elevated, I invested in a pair of beautifully-made leather fisherman sandals from Fracap. Handmade in Puglia, these are far superior to similarly-priced high street alternatives thanks to the ultra-soft leather and substantial but bouncy soles.”

“Open my beauty cabinet on any given day and you’ll find Sunday Riley front and centre. In winter I always rely on the Juno face oil and C.E.O hydration cream to tackle dull, dry skin, so you can imagine my delight when the B3 Nice Niacinamide serum landed in Space NK. This lightweight serum packs a punch, encouraging more even, brighter skin, so I can afford to forgo foundation this summer.”

“As soon as the sun is out, you can’t keep me indoors, and I just found the perfect excuse for al-fresco hosting. Imagine how cute Addison Ross’ colourful Chubbie salt and pepper grinders will look on an embroidered tablecloth, nestled among glasses of rosé and mosaic print tableware.”

“I’ve been evangelical about E.L.V. Denim since I tried on my first pair of their upcycled straight-leg jeans, and now they’ve made a fashionable foray into light cottons just in time for the heatwave. This maxi skirt is good enough to retire my blue jeans for. Well, for now anyway.”

“In my opinion, Reformation does the best white dresses and, this summer, I’m looking to switch up my usual penchant for puff-sleeves and, instead, embrace a simpler silhouette. The fitted bodice has an elasticated shirred panel to the back, making it comfortable enough to wear all day without a second thought.”

“I get more wear out of basket bags than I do any other kind of handbag style, though I’m yet to invest in a designer style. In lieu of statement logos, I’m gravitating towards this sleek style from Saint Laurent; the long leather handles mean it slings easily on the shoulder—how practical!—while the subtle gleam of the intertwined YSL emblem is the epitome of quiet luxury.”

“I’m a dress person through and through and right now this Doen style is sitting pretty at the top of my wish list thanks to its lovely baby blue floral pattern and sensationally good sleeves. I’ll wear it on holiday with flip flops, to a wedding with heels and in the city with trainers. I just know the cost per wear will make this worth the investment.”

“I ordered these sandals last week and have already worn them three times! I love a lace-up sandal in summer, and this deep brown pair with the pearlescent embellishment really levels up any jeans and tee or simple summer dress outfit.”

“This summer I’m determined to invest in versatile pieces I can enjoy wearing both on holiday and at home in the city. This new tote from Toteme is practical but incredibly chic. I know I’ll use it day to day but it’s also the perfect carry-all for travelling.”

“The second summer hits I always get the feeling of wanting to immediately store all my jeans away and never see them again (until autumn, of course). Linen trousers is what I’ll be wearing instead—so comfy, so elevated and just as easy as jeans to wear with a simple tank top and sandals.”

“I can always count on Acne Studios for elevated basics. I’ve been on the hunt for a long black tailored skirt and this one definitely fits the bill. The asymmetric design makes this skirt less of a workwear piece and is perfect to style all year round.”

“I’m notorious for not being able to pack light for any situation, so I don’t own a cute array of small bags. I’ve had this particular Gucci bag on my wishlist for a while (thanks, TikTok). I’m not usually a fan of overly branded bags, but this is definitely something I can style with many things in my wardrobe due to the neutral colour palette.”

“With summer fast approaching, I’ve been on the lookout for the best summer dresses to add to my wheelhouse. This boho style button-down would be the perfect option to wear on a sunny day in the city, or a trip to the beach.”

“I can’t speak highly enough about the Anatome Essential Daily Probiotic + Gut Support supplements. I’ve seen a massive difference in how I feel day-to-day, so these will always be a repeat buy!”
