The Environment (and Your Wallet) Will Thank You for This Easy Product Swap

We’re all inherently aware of the immense amount of waste produced by the beauty industry every year. Sustainability is now top of mind for many beauty brands (as it should be), and I can’t say that I’m mad at it. Although it’s important that brands begin to step up and move toward no-waste packaging, we as consumers also need to do our part.

You may think that the small things don’t matter in the long run, but even the smallest tweaks to your routine on a daily basis can make a huge difference. There are a number of ways we can streamline our routines. We can start by purchasing more waterless products, avoiding ingredients that harm the environment, and most importantly, ditching those disposable cotton pads. I know you may have gripes about that last one. The texture of reusable pads definitely takes some getting used to, even I’ll admit that. But both your wallet and the environment will thank you. I can guarantee it. To save you some time and energy researching the gold standard in reusable pads, I’ve rounded up a few winners below. Keep scrolling for the absolute best reusable cotton rounds for both skincare and makeup removal.

Paula’s Choice is a brand I know and trust. I’ve been a longtime user of the cult-favorite 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant ($27), and I’m happy to report the cotton rounds also don’t disappoint. They come with a mesh bag that you can use when you need to throw them in the wash.

These bamboo cotton rounds are super soft and perfect for both skincare and makeup removal. As a bonus, the rest of the packaging is also eco- and travel-friendly.

These cotton rounds are gentle enough for sensitive skin and the delicate eye area. The cotton on each round is ultra smooth and double-sided to be used for makeup removal on one side and toning on the other.

These luxe cotton rounds from Jenny Patinkin are hypoallergenic, antibacterial, and antimicrobial. They have a delicate terry texture that gently exfoliates without irritating the skin.

Clean Circle’s Velour Skincare Pads come in a pack of 10. I’ll admit I wish one pack came with more, but at least they’re sturdy and won’t over-absorb your products before you apply them.

These Dermstore pads are super cute because they come marked with the days of the week. They’re made of 100% bamboo and can be used to remove anything from stubborn eye makeup to cleansing and toning.

I just had to include these pads from Prados Beauty because they would add a nice little pop of color to your daily routine. The handy little holder for the pads is also made of 100% recycled material.

These pads are made completely of charcoal bamboo, which is great for oily skin types. Charcoal is highly absorbent and can help with any shiny areas on the face. These pads also come with little finger pockets for those hard-to-reach areas.

I’m a sucker for anything pastel, so I’ll definitely be adding these to my cart, ICYWW. The pads are comprised of 70% bamboo and 30% cotton and are hypoallergenic. It also doesn’t hurt that the pads come in a travel-friendly metal case.

These cleansing rounds are pre-loaded with makeup-melting micellar water. The microfiber pads activate when you run them under water and last for about 1000 washes.

Kitsch’s mini pads are great for the eye area and other small crevices on the face. They even come with a reusable waterproof travel pouch to store them in.

These Biossance pads are literally pillow-soft and perfect for nighttime skin treatments like chemical exfoliants or masks.

For those like me who go through a ton of cotton pads and could use a heftier amount, opt for this pack of 30 reusable cotton rounds.

This variety pack comes with 12 pads that are perfect for everyday use and three bonus pads that are a bit thicker to help remove any stubborn makeup.
