The £35 M&S Jeans Our Editors Plan on Wearing All Autumn

The anti-skinny jean movement is still in full swing, and shows literally no sign of slowing down any time soon. In 2023, we’ve even surpassed classic straight-legs and it’s looser, baggier wide-leg styles that are leading the charge as the coolest jeans to own right now. And I’m not just talking about the styles on the designer catwalks. By now, as I’m sure you’ve probably noticed, chic wide-leg jeans are cropping up all over the high street, from more relaxed baggy styles to smarter versions.

I think it’s fair to say the whole Who What Wear team have been converted, and lately we’ve all been on the lookout for the perfect pair to add to our autumn capsules. So, when we came across The Wide Leg Jeans for £35 at good old Marks & Spencer recently, you could say we hit the jackpot. The jeans are arguably the perfect shape—wide but not overwhelmingly baggy, with a nipped in high waist that balances out the looser leg and flatters all body shapes. They also come in no less than seven different colours, three different length options and up to a size UK24. Plus, they’re made using recycled cotton re-spun from cotton textile waste—all part of M&S’s commitment to the Better Cotton Initiative

You can hardly blame us for thinking they were too good to be true—but, no. Like most classic M&S buys we’ve tried in the past, once we got these home the rave reviews kept coming (there’s over 1300 reviews online averaging out at four stars, too). The quality of the denim is great, and in my personal opinion they look just as expensive as some of the most luxe designer pairs out there once styled up. I love pairing my regular length style with heels for an elongated leg (I’m only 5’2″), but I’m considering investing in a shorter length pair to wear with flats as well.

Keep scrolling to shop M&S’s The Wide Leg Jeans for yourself, we can’t guarantee they’ll be in stock for much longer!
