Spring Is Coming—Here Are the 8 Biggest Shoe Trends to Know

While we may have already shown you our predictions for the shoe trends that came down designers’ runways, a few new styles can pop up IRL and on Instagram that take us by surprise. While most of our predictions do come true (trust us—we’ve proven it), it’s just not physically possible to get on track with everything. But now that the better weather has slowly started to make its way and our favorite fashion girls are already pulling out their spring-ready looks, we’ve taken note of the shoe trends we can’t stop spotting.

Below, we took a deep dive into the ‘gram and rounded up the best shoe trends that’ll stay on our radar for springtime. I’m talking heeled mules, clogs, and the Y2K return of platform flip-flops. I’m a boot-lover and will still be pulling out my favorite cowboy boots into the next season, but I’m ready to try out the styles below. With the fantastic set of outfit inspiration below, you’ll want to try them out too. Keep scrolling to view (and shop!) the shoe trends we predict will be sticking around for a while, along with how the coolest girls are wearing them now.

Chunky loafers made their way into the winter with the Prada logo loafer all over our feeds, and now the trend is here to stay in the spring, too. Dare I say this could be a new wardrobe staple? Because I’m ready to wear these all day, every day.

While this still may be a shoe style many people are 50/50 on, their comfort is enough to win you over. It’s like the cooler, more fashionable version of Crocs. Take that how you will.

Tennis may have reigned in the summer, but ballet class has been the latest aesthetic fashion girls are obsessing over, and we’re not mad about it. While ballet flats remain a classic, newer versions are popping on the market with pastel hues and square toes.

The 2000s called, and they want their flip-flops back, but we’re not giving it to them. The new take on a platform flipflop is trendy but elevated, making it the perfect warm-weather shoe.

While sneaker trends have gotten interesting in the past few years, it’s back to the more simple the better. While I love an interesting design, minimal and classic sneakers are just more versatile since they can go with literally anything.

It’s been a year of fun prints galore, and we’re not stopping with the clothes. Bring on the printed shoes, as they’re a perfect way to take a simple look to another level. (I’ve already gotten my hands on a Zebra pair, and they’re my new favorite.)

My fellow WWW editors have already decided that bubblegum pink is the color of the year (Sorry, Pantone!), so why not bring it to your accessory game as well? Pink shoes will go with more than you think, especially if you love playing with contrasts.

These ’90s-inspired shoes are trendy, but I also think they’ll be sticking around for a while, just like square-toe strappy sandals when they first started trickling into the fashion scene. I’m finding new styles all over the market—from minimal to kitschy.
