Sofia Richie Swears By This Makeup Brand, So I Put It to the Test

If there’s one celebrity that can convince me to try pretty much anything, it’s Sofia Richie. I don’t know what hold the star has over me, but if I see her using a particular beauty product, I have to get my hands on it straight away. For example, when she posted her lavender manicure on TikTok, I went to the salon that same weekend in order to try the colour out for myself (spoiler: I loved it).

So, after hearing Richie rave about Nudestix makeup, I knew I had to put the brand to the test. The star has featured the brand in her famous ‘get ready with me’ style videos on TikTok, and apparently she even wore some of the products on her wedding day. I’m personally a big fan of Richie’s more natural, pared-back approach when it comes to makeup, so I wondered if this brand could be the secret to that “barely there” makeup look that I have always tried so hard to recreate.

Although my job as a junior beauty editor involves me testing lots of different makeup brands, I’d actually never tried a single thing from Nudestix, so you can imagine how excited I was to give the products a go. I was keen to put a variety of things to the test, so I decided that I would do a full face of makeup using only Nudestix products to see which ones stood out to me.

After trying everything out, I can totally see why Sofia Richie loves this brand. In my opinion, it’s perfect for those of you who like quick, easy makeup looks that don’t require much effort. Plus, the packaging is super chic, and the brand is a little more affordable than other celeb favourites such as Dior and Chanel. If after reading that, you’re keen to try it out yourself, keep on scrolling for my favourite Nudestix makeup products to add to your collection…

Rating: 8/10. Pros: Easy to blend, lightweight on the skin and gives a natural finish. Cons: Not very high coverage. First up is the brand’s tinted cover foundation. When I first tried this out on the back of my hand, I was very intrigued by the formula, as it’s a lot more liquidy and lightweight than other foundations I have tried. However, after applying it, it’s safe to say that I am obsessed. The texture makes it super easy to blend and it felt as if I was wearing no foundation at all. I found that it evened out my skin tone and offered light coverage, but I would recommend going in with a concealer if you want to fully cover up any blemishes or dark circles.

Rating: 8/10. Pros: Creamy formula is also easy to blend into the skin and this has a lot more coverage than the foundation. Cons: Not very illuminating for the under-eye area. Speaking of concealer, this creamy formula from the brand is incredible at covering anything from redness to blemishes. The applicator is the perfect size for getting in those hard-to-reach areas, and it’s just as easy to blend as the foundation.

Rating: 9/10. Pros: Easy stick application and bronzer is easy to blend. Cons: The brush applicator is not the best for blending into the skin. If you’ve watched Sofia Richie’s TikTok videos, then you may have come across these clever sticks. What I love about these products are that they are designed to be multitasking, and come in a range of shades that can be used on the eyes, cheeks and lips. For bronzer, I went for the shade ‘Bondi Bae’, and I found this so easy to apply and blend into the skin. I will say that I don’t love the brush applicator that comes with the product, so I do tend to use my own.

Rating: 9/10. Pros: Easy stick application and adds a really natural-looking flush of colour to the cheeks. Cons: Again, the brush applicator is not the best for blending into the skin. I loved the shade ‘Sunset Strip’ for a natural flush of colour to the cheeks, and I can see myself using this product for years to come.

Rating: 8/10. Pros: So easy to apply and adds a beautiful sheen to the skin. Cons: This is a very subtle highlighter, so if you like some serious glow then this might not be for you. They also do a range of ‘Glow’ sticks if you don’t want a super matte finish, and I love the shade ‘Hey Honey’. This product would be perfect on holiday, as you could apply it both to your face and body for luminous skin.

Rating: 7/10. Pros: Quick and easy to apply and adds a subtle pop of colour and shimmery finish to the lids.  Cons: I found that this did crease slightly throughout the day, so would probably go in with a separate eye primer. I don’t know about you, but I hate faffing around with eyeshadows, and this product has made my life so much easier. The eyeshadow pencil practically glides over the eyelid, and all I do is blend it in a little bit with my ring finger and suddenly I look like I’ve spent a lot more time on my eye makeup than I actually have.

Rating: 8/10. Pros: Leaves your lashes with natural definition and volume and doesn’t smudge.  . Cons: Not the best choice for a more statement look. I’m personally not a fan of really intense mascaras, and this one gives me just the right amount of length and volume. Not only that, but the formula is enriched with argan oil and mango seed oil to nourish lashes. That being said, if you do like a little more definition, then this might not be the one for you.

Rating: 9/10. Pros: Really hydrating on the lips and gives them a gorgeous, glossy finish. Cons: The applicator can be a bit messy. Finally, for a glossy, hydrated lip, you can’t go wrong with this Hydra-Peptide Lip Butter. It contains shea butter and avocado to leave your lips feeling super soft, and it has a deliciously refreshing minty flavour. You can also get a tinted version if you want to make more of a statement with your look.
