Sean Paul: Jay-Z Was Jealous Of ‘Baby Boy’ Collab w/ Beyonce

Dancehall star Sean Paul’s 2003 hit sing “Baby Boy” with Beyonce may be one of the biggest hits, but recently he revealed that Jay-Z was not happy about the pair’s collaboration.

The pair only performed their hit song together one time at the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards. From then on, Beyonce performed the song solo — he’s finally revealed why.

 “Yuh si weh you seh? You neva feel comfortable. Me neva feel comfortable needa, but mi jus use my diplomacy all di while an guh roun any likkle obstacle weh me have inna life,” he said in Patois.

He added, “Yes, to me that was something that was apparent at the time. Wi know that artistry is artistry suh a nuh every time dem ting deh gwan.” 

He’s not the only artist to complain about Jay-Z’s jealousy. Recently Bun B revealed that Jay had him and others kicked off the set of Bey’s “Check On It” video.
