R. Kelly’s Lawyers Are Trying To Have His Trial Delayed Again

The attorneys of R. Kelly are trying to have his trial delayed again.

They say since the trial has been quarantining during the pandemic, they have not been able to meet with Kelly regularly to prepare for the trial, which is set to begin August 9.

Lawyer Deveraux Cannick wrote that proceeding with the disgraced star’s trial as scheduled would rob him of effective and meaningful representation.

“Robert is anxious to have his day in court; however not at the expense of his Sixth Amendment rights,” Cannick wrote. He also wrote that this was not a ploy to have his trial delayed again.
