When a friend of mine recently told me that she’s been invited to a fancy spring gala, she asked for my advice on what to wear. So what exactly is a revenge dress? It refers to the stunning off-the-shoulder black evening gown Princess Diana wore to the Vanity Fair party in 1994. The dress has been interpreted as having been worn by Diana “in revenge” to her husband, the former Prince Charles admitting to adultery in a televised interview.
