Midriff Flossing Is Still a Thing, Here’s How to Pull Off the Risqué Trend

Here at WWW, we love to call out trends in the early stages of their infancy before they become a “really big deal.” About this time last year, fellow editor Lauren Eggertsen waxed lyrical about the revealing lace-up micro-trend—i.e. clothing that slinkily ties and wraps around a bare midriff—or what I’ve more recently coined midriff flossing (get it?).

The trend that can be seen on everything from tops to bralettes and maxi dresses continues its rise in popularity—spotted all over the S/S 21 collections from Jacquemus to Acne Studios. Not to mention, crisscrossing cords and wraparound details have been flooding our Insta feeds since last year and are set to dominate this summer.

While the risqué trend is perhaps not to everyone’s sartorial liking if you’re looking to give the skin-baring trend a whirl then we have plenty of inspiration and shopping picks below to help you pull off the look—there’s a little something for everyone’s comfort level of flossing.

This also comes in a cool lime green hue.

For a subtler take on the trend, opt for this knit midi dress.
