Melinda French Gates said her ex-husband Bill Gates’ working relationship with Jeffrey Epstein played a part in their divorce.
“I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him,” she told Gayle King adding that she met Epstein “exactly one time” because she “wanted to see who this man was.”
“I regretted it the second I walked in the door. He was abhorrent. He was evil personified. My heart breaks for these women,” she said. “I certainly believe in forgiveness, so I thought we had worked through some of that. It wasn’t one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there where I realized it just wasn’t healthy, and I couldn’t trust what we had.”
According to a report from The Daily Beast, Melinda was “furious” after she and Bill met with Epstein back in 2013. Bill called the meeting with Epstein a “mistake in judgment,” and that he “thought that those discussions would lead, literally, to billions of dollars going to global health. It turned out that was a bad judgment.”
