LisaRaye McCoy Defends Radio Hosts Racist Remarks

LisaRaye McCoy is facing backlash after defending a radio host’s racist remarks about Black women, comparing their skin tones to toaster settings.

“I would never go to a Serena Williams level, but I’m very comfortable with a Halle Berry level,” said Rob Lederman.

Lederman was fired shortly after.

“I want to sincerely apologize for hurting people with my foolish and ignorant comments yesterday. Ater listening to what I said, and how it must have sounded to others, I was horrified. I 100% understand why people are justifiably angry. I made a mistake and it’s hard to look myself in the mirror, but I want to acknowledge it. I apologize from the deepest depths of who I am,” he said in an apology.

But LisaRaye says she doesn;t see what the problem was.

“He’s just saying he doesn’t go as far as a dark-skinned Black woman,” she said to her Cocktails with Queens co-hosts. “He’s comfortable with the color of a Halle Berry. What’s wrong with that?”

“That’s colorism! He could have said that differently in this climate,” said Syleena Johnson. LisaRaye did not agree: “I always say I either wanna get a latte or I’ll say I wanna caramel latte or a mocha.”

Is LisaRaye correct or is she way off the mark on this one?
