Your Hogwarts letter has finally arrived.
A while back, Harry Potter fans freaked out at news that a new Harry Potter mobile game was coming.
The game was being described as similar to Pokémon Go, especially since it was being developed in part by the same company, Niantic.

Well, guess what: There’s gonna be ANOTHER Harry Potter mobile game, and THE FIRST TRAILER IS HERE!
The new game will be called Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, and it will be a prequel of sorts to the original Harry Potter movies.
According to Jam City’s press release, the game will be “set in the time between Harry Potter’s birth and his enrollment at Hogwarts, when Nymphadora Tonks and Bill Weasley were students.” That would place it sometime between 1984–1989, for those keeping track.

Players will create their own character, attend Hogwarts, join a House, take classes, learn spells, and even duel against rival students.
The game will involve “large plot arcs and smaller stories such as relationship quests,” according to the creators. It appears that players will do story-based missions, solve mysteries around the school, and do the sort of shenanigans that Harry, Ron, and Hermione always got involved with.

Fans attending the Celebration of Harry Potter event from Jan. 26–28 will be able to get a sneak peek of the game. The official release is set for later this spring.
