Sale season is all about strategy. On the luxury side, the key is to scout the items you want during the introductory discounts and then watch as they dip in price, only following through on the purchase when there’s just one SKU left in your size. For lower-price retailers or brands, my personal approach is to focus on basics, using the cheap prices as an opportunity to stock up on pieces I frequent that have a tendency to wear down over time. Such was my plan of action when I heard murmurs about a major sale on the cards at Gap, which just so happens to have started today.
As we speak, Gap is doling out 40% and additional 10% discounts when you use the codes GAPVIP and PERK, respectively, at checkout, making it all too easy to re-up my faded-from-winter basics ahead of the warm weather (and yours too). So, of course, I woke up unbearably early to shop the selection before all the best items and colors, not to mention my sizes, sell out.
