I Found the 4 Best Fall Outfits to Wear RN

All the Ways to Wear is a monthly series where we round up the personal twists the Who What Wear team is putting on one particular item, style, or trend. Whether it’s the trending denim of the moment or the season’s It print, we hope to inspire your daily outfits and up the cost per wear on some of our favorite items.

I never went to private school, but I always envied the outfits. As a teenager, I desperately wanted to get involved in the world of cute pleated skirts and matching polos. As an adult, I still love a good uniform, but my interpretation is a bit different. Now, it’s not about fancy crests, color schemes, or required hem lengths, but rather polished outfit combinations I can repeat over and over—the kind that make getting dressed in the morning impossibly easy.

Currently, my daily uniform starts with denim (it’s a nonnegotiable!), so I’ve been on the hunt for inspiration. Per usual I’ve found plenty of it in my coworkers recent looks, all of which feature new trending denim styles and other seasonal essentials from PAIGE. The L.A.-based brand always carries the coolest jeans, but I’m really into their knits, jackets, boots, and sunglasses at the moment too. Keep scrolling to see the ‘fits that are inspiring my fall uniform.

“A sweater and jeans will always be the classic formula that I lean on every fall. It’s absolutely effortless, and when you do it right, it feels quite elevated. While I love this classic formula, I like to stand out a bit, too, and this sweater makes that happen. The asymmetrical cutouts nod to some of the greatest runway trends over the past few seasons. I already have a good assortment of blue jeans in this straight-leg style, so I was thrilled to add my first grey straight-leg pair to the collection. There’s a bit of a distressed feel to these as the wash fades in and out, which makes this pair feel very ‘right now.'” — Sierra Mayhew, associate editor

My perfect outfit always starts with a pair of jeans, and this fall, I’m loving PAIGE’s selection of wide-leg options. The Dream Weaver pair from the brand’s new Flaunt Denim collection fits my curves perfectly with just the right amount of stretch. I always have trouble finding jeans that fit both my hips and my waist, but this collection that’s made for body types like mine makes shopping so much easier. Pairing these jeans with a collared knit and suede ankle boots is exactly what I’m wearing on repeat this season.” — Natalie Gray Herder, associate editor

For this outfit, I juxtaposed casual pieces (a graphic tee and ripped jeans) with dressier, more polished items (a velvet blazer and heels). Life is all about balance, after all. I’m simply obsessed with this midnight-blue blazer and how it makes these laid-back jeans look a bit more refined. For fall, I can also envision wearing these perfect jeans with an oversize cardigan and flat boots.” — Erin Fitzpatrick, senior news editor

“Denim is a core part of my wardrobe no matter the season. I live in L.A., so it fits seamlessly into the casual dress codes that thrive here. Denim-on-denim looks feel particularly of-the-moment and read as an intentional way to style jeans. I can’t get enough of these slouchy, low-rise, perfect medium-wash jeans this season.” — Kristen Nichols, senior editor
