I Follow These Chic Women Over 50, and I Want to Buy Their 6 Favorite Staples

Age is clearly just a number. And in no way should the year you were born have anything to do with your sartorial choices. That said, I often tap women over 50 for top-notch style guidance given their more experienced fashion point of view and their trial-and-error experience with style. In fact, the group of chic women over 50 below are some of my favorites for shopping inspiration.

After I recently scrolled through their feeds, it became evident that there are specific staples and elevated basics that are essential for them. And yes, I want to add all of these pieces to my own wardrobe if I haven’t already. (Ahem, slouchy blazers.)

Keep scrolling to check out the items these influencers wear on repeat along with inspired shopping picks if you’re interested in adding one of the items to your wardrobe.

Chicago-based influencer Dana Marie has a feed filled with top-notch outfit ideas that are often comprised of trendy basics, including leather and faux-leather separates. I have a moto jacket in my closet, but I want to add a blazer or trousers into my rotation this fall.

If I’m looking for elevated and forward looks, Grece Ghanem always has something on her feed. She’s been embracing relaxed silhouettes like the popular oversize-button-down trend in colorful hues.

Janet Gunn and Melissa Meyers often share their style tips with me. What’s one of their wardrobe staples? Wide-leg jeans. I actually want to try even looser denim this season.

Elaine Davis knows how to elevate basics. Yes, this includes sleek tailoring picks like the ever-so-popular longline blazer that I adore so much.

Roz Kaur’s Instagram feed is so inspiring. She has an amazing collection of eyewear, and I’m always inspired to test out super-oversize frames.

As a former Nordstrom buyer and current stylist, Susie Wright knows what’s up. She’s often seen carrying mid-size totes. I have mini bags and large silhouettes, but I want to go for a more mid-size bag to store all of my essentials.

Next, check out the items a 57-year-old former buyer swears by.
