There’s just something exciting about a celebrity engagement. Whether the couple’s been dating for years or you didn’t even know they were together until they announced their engagement, many of us find ourselves obsessing over the latest celebrity engagement. Part of that obsession often involves wanting to see the bride-to-be’s new ring. Here’s a look at some of the celebrities who got engaged in 2019 and their rings.
Bindi Irwin
For Bindi Irwin, who’s been in the spotlight most of her life, her 21st birthday in July 2019 was especially special. That’s the day that her longtime boyfriend, wakeboarder, Chandler Powell proposed. Irwin’s ring includes a center oval diamond, which is estimated to be between 2 and 3 carats. The ring also includes a diamond-adorned rose gold band as well.
Katie Rost
If you’re a fan of reality television, you might know Katie Rost from Real Housewives of Potomac. In July 2019, the reality star got engaged to her boyfriend, Jesse. Rost has had some ups and downs in her romantic life. Her first marriage ended with divorce in 2016. Unfortunately, while Rost and Jesse did get engaged in 2019, they also broke it off in the same year, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t admire the ring. Rost’s heirloom ring contains a blue sapphire center stone with two side diamonds on a gold band. The ring belonged to Jesse’s mother, so it held special meaning to him.
Lindsey Vonn
The retired Olympic skier and her hockey-playing fiancé, P.K. Saddan, actually have two proposal dates. He proposed to Lindsey Vonn in August 2019, giving her a ring with a 4-carat emerald center stone with two smaller stones flanking it. Because they don’t like to do things quite the traditional way, Vonn then proposed to Saddan on Christmas day 2019, presenting him with his own ring.
Princess Beatrice
Over the last few years Princess Beatrice has watched her cousins and her younger sister, Eugenie, get married. Before long, it will be her turn. The granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II got engaged in September 2019 to her boyfriend, Edoardo Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, a real estate developer. The princess’ ring includes a 2.5-carat round-cut center stone with .75-carat baguette diamonds on the sides on a platinum band. The future groom helped design the ring.
Hoda Kotb
The co-host of Today got engaged in November 2019 to her boyfriend, Joel Schiffman. The couple had been dating for six years prior to their engagement. The ring includes a center square diamond with what appears to be sapphires around the edge in an octagonal shape. Kotb surprised her friends and viewers by making the engagement announcement on the show just days after her tropical vacation engagement.
Emma Stone
After dating since 2017, actress, Emma Stone, and writer and director, Dave McCary, got engaged in late 2019. The couple met on the set of Saturday Night Live in 2016 when Stone acted in a sketch that McCary directed. Stone’s ring includes a larger center pearl with small diamonds surrounding the middle stone.
Danielle Brooks
The Orange Is the New Black star got engaged to her boyfriend, Dennis Gelin, the last week of 2019. Brooks’ ring includes a round-solitaire diamond, which is estimated to be about 1.5-1.75 carats. The ring includes a beautiful diamond band. 2019 was an especially exciting year for Brooks since she gave birth to her first baby, a girl, in November.
Of course, many of these rings are too expensive for the average person’s pocketbook. That doesn’t mean, though, that you can’t use these rings as inspiration for your own beautiful engagement ring.
