French Women Adore These 12 Brands—Trust Me, I Asked Them Myself

Part of being a fashion editor means that we are always on the hunt for the next big thing, especially when it comes to buzzy brands. I’m always hoping to find something that will have people asking me, “Where did you get that?” This also happens to be the exact question that runs through my mind every time I see one of my favorite French girls post a unique outfit on Instagram. I’m praying that they’ll tag the products so I can get to shopping.

While that’s not always the case, each of them relies on an assortment of amazing designers that help them build out their effortlessly chic closet. And as I got to thinking about it, I realized I just had to ask them where they’ve been shopping from as of late. The results are outstanding and I have a whole new list of designers to add to my cart now. Below, find the 12 brands that French women are currently eyeing.

“Christopher Esber is my favorite brand for evening dresses. The dresses are fun yet timeless, so I can wear them over and over. Their collections just keep getting better every season.”—Sylvie Mus

“I really like Anine Bing because it offers pieces that are easy to wear every day, day and night, for a very chic look. Their effortless minimalist pieces keep very well over time. Their boots are a must and if you don’t like high heels too much, these boots are perfect as they can be worn in any circumstance, the bag is perfect for day or night, and I love the blazer too because I really like the very chic, very couture cut.”—Franny Fyne

“My favorite brand right now is The Row. I love everything: the loafers, bags, coats. But since it is really not affordable I would recommend COS for a minimalistic modern silhouette. The oversize cashmere is perfect.”—Tamara Mory

“My favorite brands of the moment are Peter Do for the very sharp work of layering I am literally admiring. Then there is Rokh, which really appealed to me in this last collection S/S 23 during fashion week. The collection was feminine with very structured and symmetrical cuts. I also liked A.W.A.K.E. Mode, which always proposes fluid and comfortable cuts and the whole while keeping a rather neutral and minimalist style at the same time.”—Loïcka Biampandou

“Yeba by Yeba Olaye is a sustainable luxury handbag brand from Belgium. I’ve been a fan of this brand for a few years now, every bag is so elegant and timeless, and it’s affordable even though these are luxury bags. My favorite model is the mini first in black that I’ve been wearing on multiple occasions from day to night. I’m also loving The Curated, a slow luxury brand that invests in beautiful fabrics. Every item is made to order to avoid waste. They’re well known for their coats which are my favorites in my collection. Timeless and super chic. And finally, it’s not specifically a brand but I love this web marketplace which has mostly Korean brands. I love Korean fashion so it’s always a pleasure to work with them, some of the few brands from them that I love are Kindersalmon, Maison Loeuvre, MOIA, Blossom, and Demaker to name a few.”—Aida

“The brand that I love right now is my friend’s brand called Ivana Gibson. You’ll see my face everywhere on the website because I have been modeling for her brand since pretty much the beginning! Because of this, I literally know all her pieces and can say without a doubt that they are all so good. I love the attention to detail and the quality of the fabrics. The cuts are great too, timeless yet very much in trend for a feminine, vintage-inspired wardrobe. My personal favorite is the Birmingham blazer, people have literally stopped me in the street to ask where it was from! It’s made in Britain from real tweed and has that grandfather jacket feel to it, and the cut is perfect. Another favorite is the Parisianière i.e. the marinière à la Parisienne, which was inspired by a conversation between the designer and myself.”—Melodie Bance
