On January 10, Tim Tebow took to Twitter, announcing his engagement to former Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
“@demileighnp Thank you for saying YES and making me the happiest man in the world. You’re the love of my life, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”
It was an incredibly memorable moment for both parties, filled with love and one that is sure to be treasured for years to come. According to E! News the former quarterback first confirmed his relationship with Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, during an ESPN Interview with Pedro Gomez. Concerning the proposal, sources at People say that he proposed to Nel-Peters at his family’s farm, right outside Jacksonville, Florida and were serenaded by Matthew Mole after he slipped the engagement ring on his fiance’s finger. In preparation for the proposal, he secretly had her family and friends flown from South Africa to Florida where they watched from a distance, surprising Nel-Peters after the proposal had taken place. While engagements are not always about the size of the ring as much as they are about the actual act of preparation to make a lifelong commitment, the size of this ring is sure to make your eyes pop. It is a perfect example of beauty and an excellent choice for the former quarterback. However, I guess when you are a professional quarterback, you learn a thing or two about options and making the best choice.
According to E! News, the 7.25 Carat solitaire engagement ring would fall in the range of $600,000 to $750,000. The ring appears to be a single solitaire round brilliant cut diamond in a four prong white gold band setting, maximizing the number of available light sources at all incident angles of the diamond, thus maximizing the shine of not only the diamond but the entire ring.
