Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably already know about Kevin’s airplane ticket, which accidentally gets thrown out at the beginning of the movie.

Kevin replies by saying he doesn’t know how to pack a suitcase…

…and he’s ultimately told that his mom will pack it for him.

Flash forward to this scene.

Kevin just got out of the shower and is commenting on how clean he is before he casually mentions that he can’t find his toothbrush.

And so he goes out and buys one — well, technically, he accidentally shoplifts one and gets chased by a cop.

After stealing the toothbrush, Kevin’s feeling pretty low, and he’s walking home alone with his head down.

And that’s when he almost gets hit by this van. Oh and who’s driving this van?

So basically the entire movie happens because Kevin’s mom remembers to pack Kevin’s toothbrush but forgets to pack Kevin.
