Emma Watson Just Made a Cut-Out Bra Look Shockingly Chic and Elegant

Emma Watson is one of my favourite celebrities to look to for polished and wearable styling inspiration. Yet, at the same time, Watson isn’t the kind of celebrity that we catch sight of very often. So, when her rare outings do occur, you know she has my attention. To my delight, last night was at last one of those happy occasions. Attending the premier of We Dare to Dream in London last night, Emma Watson joined Malala Yousafzai and Director Waad Al-Kateab on the red carpet, styling a party-wear favourite that I plan on copying this event season.

On the late November evening, Watson reached for a slim-cut single breasted suit set, which she styled silver sparkly heels and festive red lip. Though we love Watson for her classic, polished style, her looks are often dressed up with a subtle playful addition. In the past she’s opted for a dramatic collar or broad-shouldered jacket, but in this case the actress let her strappy bralette peak-out beneath her blazer for a stylish twist that exudes party glamour.

Styling the exposed lingerie trend in a way that not only feels wearable, but also classy, Watson choose a bralette with delicate strap details, over a larger, lacy style. This thoughtful choice meant that the look remained clean and polished, rather than cluttered, and that the bra wasn’t left to compete with the crystal embellishment found on the shoulder of her blazer. Her monochrome styling added to the sleek feel of the look, which she kept feeling relaxed by styling a her hair in a loose ponytail, and opting for minimal makeup, bar her red lip. Indulging the glamours energy of her evening look, Watson’s black blazer featured a striking embellished detail which worked to lift the feel of the outfit, whilst allowing Watson to forgo layers of jewellery in favour of few accessories for the occasion. For it’s low-effort, high-impact credentials, the bralette and blazer pairing is a party-season no-brainer. Wear with platform heels for a dramatic effect, or tone it down with neat ballet flats.

Wear with the co-ordinating trousers for an elegant and impactful partywear look.

Style with sleek court shoes or black kitten heels.

Layer underneath a black blazer for subtly sexy finish.

Silver sparkly heels are a major trend this party season, and this glistening pair has caught my eye.

Embellished blazers are the easiest way to add some glamour to a party outfit.

Go all out and style with the matching crystal trousers.

Dress up your favourite jeans or style with loose-leg wool trousers.

The elegant embellishment means theres no need for statement jewellery.

Pair with a white t-shirt and jeans or style with a silky slip dress for a party-ready look.

The simple embellishments add a touch of festive glamour, without overwhelming the outfit.

This chic boxy blazer will have you feeling equal parts comfortable and chic all evening long.
