Ed Sheeran is headed to “Game of Thrones.”
The singer/songwriter, who has dabbled in acting, will appear in the HBO drama’s upcoming season.
“For years we were trying to get Ed Sheeran on the show to surprise Maisie [Williams] and this year we finally did it,” Executive Producer David Benioff said at the “GoT” SXSW panel, per Entertainment Weekly.
“A lot of [music artists] say they would they would like to [be on the show], and then we tell them [shooting a scene] is so boring,” Executive Producer Dan Weiss said. “‘You’re gonna hate this — you’re going to be sitting around three days for 12 hours a day.'”
Ed Sheeran previously appeared in FX’s “The Bastard Executioner.” He’s also made music-related cameos in shows including “Undateable.”
“Game of Thrones” Season 7 premieres July 16 on HBO.
