Sunny Hostin is a force to be reckoned with. She is a television host, a multi-platform journalist, a New York Times best-selling author, and an attorney. In 2016, Hostin joined Emmy Award–winning daytime talk show The View as a co-host, where viewers look to her for her legal and political savvy. Prior to becoming an influential addition to the incredible team at The View, Hostin worked at major multinational news television channels like CNN and as the legal analyst for Good Morning America, where she worked her way up within the cutthroat industry until she became a household name.

In 2020, Hostin also became an author with the release of her first best seller, her memoir I Am These Truths. The following year, she released her debut fiction novel, Summer on the Bluffs, which is now evolving into a trilogy. Along with the release of her first-ever fictional novel, she announced a new production company in partnership with ABC committed to uplifting diverse storytelling, which will be the production company—along with famed actress Octavia Spencer—developing Summer on the Bluffs into a television series.

Hostin’s career is nothing short of monumental, as she continues to accomplish major milestones within the media industry, but before she was a key change-maker in the space, she was a highly revered attorney. After studying law at the University of Notre Dame, Hostin worked her way up from a clerkship in the Maryland court of appeals, eventually becoming a federal prosecutor specializing in child sex crimes and subsequently parlaying her wealth of knowledge of the legal system into a successful career as a legal journalist.

Listen to the latest episode of Second Life to discover how Hostin has reinvented herself and time and again and has proved she is just as multifaceted as her wildest dreams.
