As a beauty editor , I’d have the privilege of trying almost everything under the sun when it comes to products, but I usually stick to my tried-and-true classics, such as my reliable red lipsticks . Lately, however, I’ve been expanding beyond my usual go-to’s. Listen—for someone who has been happily in their comfort zone for years, it’s kind of a big deal. (Just patting myself on the back for this period of “personal growth.”)
So when I’m looking for new products to experiment with, it makes it easier to peruse a retailer like Nordstrom, which has a variety of makeup, skincare, and hair care from some of my favorite luxe brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Clé de Peau Beauté. Ahead, you’ll find 16 Nordstrom beauty products I’ve fallen for recently with a couple of my all-time favorites thrown in for good measure.
One of the biggest surprises I pulled on myself is how often I wear lip gloss now. I was such a hardcore red lipstick user for years! The famous Dior Lip Glow Oil is one of my favorites. It nourishes my lips without feeling sticky or greasy. Just fabulous.
It’s been a minute since I used a liquid blush because I’ve been focused on cream ones, but Charlotte Tilbury’s new matte blushes have me shaking things up. These blend easily and look stunning. The perfect cherry on top of my makeup.
This is a foundation that I’ve been obsessed with enough to mention many times in my other Who What Wear stories, and I’m happy to say the obsession continues! It covers my scars and evens out my tone without being heavy or matte. My 40+-year-old skin loves it.
I may be wearing lip gloss more lately, but I’m still devoted to my matte lipsticks! I’ve been reaching for this one a lot lately, specifically Strawberry Rhubarb. It’s bold, velvety, and never drying.
Looking for a good sunscreen is always a Goldilocks-type of situation, but it seems like I found the one that’s just right. This SPF 30 sunscreen by True Botanicals is made with 19 percent zinc oxide but doesn’t leave a white cast. I’m able to quickly put it on without having to worry about rubbing it in enough so I don’t look pasty (like with other sunscreens). I also love how it’s smooth and not at all tacky, and evens out my skin tone, making it easy to wear alone. It also conceals my pores and works like a primer under makeup!
When it comes to body care, Nécessaire is at the top of my list. I’ve been die-hard for their body washes, and now the Body Cream is my jam. This is not your ordinary body cream, people. It is packed with essential ceramides (total of five), plus incredibly beneficial ingredients like colloidal oatmeal, niacinamide (probably my favorite skincare ingredient these days) and linoleic acids. I’ve been dealing with dry, itchy skin from this crazy California cold weather and it’s been a godsend.
I still haven’t succumbed to microblading like some of my peers; instead, I prefer to define and fill in my brows with a no-fail pencil, like the classic Brow Wiz.
I’m usually more of a curl girl, but no flat iron really smooths out my hair without damaging it like T3’s brilliant Smooth ID. You customize it according to your hair texture, color treatment, and length. Needless to say, this is extremely important to a fake blonde like me!
When I smelled this for the first time, I immediately said it was going to be my new signature scent. I haven’t had the best of luck with rose notes in the past, but thankfully this one works (possibly due to the violet and the vanilla rounding it out). I’m in love.
Another surprising development in my recent lipstick ventures? The fact that I’m also experimenting with more shiny finishes, such as Phyto-Rouge from Sisley Paris. Like butter, baby.
After I’m done defining my brows, I like using something to fluff them up just slightly (sorry, I’m not big on the overly brushed-up brows). Benefit’s brow wax brings some life to my brows without making them feel super stiff like other brow waxes I’ve tried.
There’s nothing I love more than a serum in my skincare routine (well, essence does come close!). The latest serum to have made its way into my routine is this dual-phase serum from Darphin which helps with dull and dehydrated skin. It’s powered by a Pepti-Botanical Complex, which contains a three-flower botanical blend that helps improve moisture and a peptide that smooths wrinkles and plumps the skin up. I’ve really been enjoying this and can’t wait to see how my skin looks over time.
I’ve been solely using this alcohol-free setting spray and nothing else for a minute (I usually alternate between a few). Not only does it have awesome staying power, but the ingredients are also fabulous—there’s antioxidants for protection and green tea to refresh and hydrate.
I’ve been using this sunscreen every single day this winter. The lotion absorbs nicely into my skin and wears well under makeup (just make sure to shake it well and give it a little time in between applying your products). It really is the perfect year-round sunscreen.
Before I was using my Dermaflash regularly, I was letting my peach fuzz grow and grow. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course, but I have noticed that my skin feels softer and my foundation goes on more smoothly, so as far as I and my Dermaflash are concerned, that peach fuzz is never coming back!
I fell in love with Caudalie’s beloved Beauty Elixir years ago and I still consider it my favorite facial spray. It’s inspired by the legendary elixir of youth that Queen Isabelle of Hungary purportedly used to retain her complexion, so every time I spritz it on my face, I imagine myself as a queen.
