When Max the terrier’s human gets married and has a baby, Max must learn to cope with all of the extra neuroses that come with caring for a new human. With the help of a LOT of new friends, Max goes on an adventure to prove just how far he’ll go to protect his beloved owners. It appears that this sequel seeks to focus on the more emotional side of the things our pets experience and, TBH, it’ll probably make you want to hug your pet against their will even more often than you already do.

After hiring her first (and only) female staff writer (Mindy Kaling) to smooth over diversity concerns, a late night talk show host (Emma Thompson) finds herself enjoying their unlikely partnership/friendship. This movie can, truly, only have been made as the result of someone reading my diary because MINDY KALING and EMMA THOMPSON in a COMEDY together are you ACTUALLY KIDDING ME?! Take all my money now, k thanks bye.

Look, I honestly shouldn’t even have to sell you on this one. It’s SHAFT. The question is…can YOU dig it? Anyway, this story sees FBI agent and cybersecurity expert John Shaft Jr. (Jessie T. Usher) compelled to recruit the talents of his ICONIC father, the titular man himself (Samuel L. Jackson) after his best friend dies under “mysterious” circumstances. *Original Shaft theme music blares in the distance.*

After seeing Thor: Ragnarok back in 2017 I KNEW that I needed a buddy cop-style movie featuring Thor and Valkyrie…the thing is, I didn’t think my prayers would be answered SO soon. The fourth installment in this beloved franchise (and the first to feature a brand new cast of agents with Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth) sees the MIB take things internationally to London. There isn’t much else to say except I am already obsessed with this pairing. This movie IS bisexual culture.

A peaceful, all-American small town in the middle of nowhere is rocked by a sequence of odd occurrences that lead to the zombie apocalypse. That’s the plot. Now that I have that out of the way LET’S. DISCUSS. THIS. CAST. Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Steve Buscemi, RZA, Rosie Perez, Iggy Pop, Selena Gomez…and the list LITERALLY just goes on and on and on. But, if you watch this film for no other reason, just watch it to hear Kylo Ren say the word “ghouls,” because it’s hilarious.

Blah blah blah, old favorites returning. Blah blah blah, we love this series. Blah blah blah, crying over my childhood. Let’s skip all that and just focus on FORKY. Forky, the most relatable character in all of pop culture, will be making their wonderfully nihilistic debut and I cannot wait to see what happens. Also, like, yeah Woody and Buzz and everyone else is going to be there too, but FORKY is the one who’s selling tickets, let’s be real here. Forky for life.

In the most hilarious marketing decision of all time, this classic killer doll reboot is coming out THE SAME DAY as Toy Story 4. You already KNOW that some theater SOMEWHERE is going to ~accidentally~ mix-up the two movies, that’s a given. Anyway, in this reimagining we see Chucky (voiced by Mr. Luke Skywalker/The Joker himself, Mark Hamill) no longer a “Good Guy” doll, but a high-tech “Buddi” doll. Either way, Chucky’s back on his same old b.s., terrorizing Andy (Gabriel Bateman) and his mother (Aubrey Plaza) to no end.

To paraphrase John Lennon, imagine a world where there was no “The Beatles.” That’s basically the plot of this film, but with a lot of underlying ethical drama. Jack Malik (Himesh Patel), a struggling musician with dreams of fame, wakes up after a freak accident to discover that The Beatles never existed. I mean, imagine you knew all of the songs of the most beloved band of all time and NO ONE ELSE DID. Would you try and pass them off as your own? Would you just carry on like everything was normal? You gotta watch this movie to find out!
