4 Fashion Insiders Share Holiday Moments (and Gifts) to Treasure Forever

The holidays are the most magical time of the year—it’s undeniable. I look forward to the traditions my family and I keep and the feeling of warmth that fills the air. And while celebrations vary, one thing remains constant: holding close those moments that we wish could last forever long after the celebrations end. If we’re lucky, these mementos can be found inside an iconic Cartier red box. From the legendary Love Bracelet to the mesmerizing Panthère collection to divine-smelling candles, trinket holders, and more, these heirloom-worthy items can memorialize life’s most important moments. This year, I turned to my stylish Who What Wear co-workers as well as a couple industry insiders for a peek at their holiday plans and the meaningful presents they’re hoping to wrap… and unwrap. Keep reading to see what these stylish women have in store for the season ahead.

For WWW associate editor Sierra Mayhew, the holidays are synonymous with freshly baked cookies and other sweet treats. “This year, I’m very excited to bake cookies and sip hot chocolate with my family,” she says. “Quality time is my love language, so any activity that involves spending time with loved ones instantly warms my heart. When I’m home, roping my family into my baking shenanigans is absolutely the best part of the holidays.”

This year, Mayhew is hoping to gift something special from the Cartier Love collection. “I’ve been wearing the Love Ring every single day for years,” she tells me. “So I know from personal experience how timeless yet innovative the design is. I think it’d be perfect for my mom.” Of course, she’s also hoping to unwrap some Cartier herself. “At the top of my personal wish list is the Clash de Cartier Bracelet. I’m absolutely obsessed with how unique it is. Since I’ve already invested in a few other beautiful pieces, this bracelet is definitely my next move.”

“The traditions my family has created around the holiday season are what I always look forward to the most every year,” says celebrity stylist Alexandra Chappelle. “We have been getting Christmas trees at the same place in Connecticut since I was little, and we still make sure everyone in our family is able to be there to bring it home together. [The day] turns into a festive evening of dancing, fireside cocktails, and opening boxes of ornaments collected over the years.”

When it comes to gifting, Chapelle says, “The dream present I’m hoping to unbox this year is the Ballon Bleu de Cartier. My mother wears this watch, and I love its subtle brilliance. I’ve [also] had my eye on the Juste un Clou Bracelet for a while now. It’s the perfect addition to my little stack. I received my Love Bracelets as gifts from my parents, and I plan to get one for my goddaughter, Daisy, this year. I’m leaning toward the white gold for her. They really do scream, ‘I love you forever!'”

“I always love holiday gatherings and getting to spend time with family, but this year, I’m also looking forward to an upcoming NYC trip,” says stylist and fashion illustrator Rachel Nosco of her holiday plans. “December is one of my favorite times of the year in New York, especially coming from Los Angeles. It’s so fun to experience some cold weather for a bit and see all of the holiday lights and décor, including a stop at the Cartier Fifth Avenue Mansion.”

For the holidays, Nosco has Cartier presents on the brain. “This set of Panthère de Cartier Trinket Trays would make the cutest gift—they’re the perfect addition to a nightstand or bathroom counter,” she explains. “Also, one can never have too many candles, and this Les Écrins Parfumés candle is one of the chicest I’ve seen! I’m especially obsessing over the Panthère de Cartier Ring. It’s such an amazing statement ring for any jewelry lover.”

WWW sales manager Gabbie Garcia likes to carve out time for her friends around the holidays. “My best friends and I have had a holiday dinner together every year for the past six years since we’ve graduated from college,” she tells me. “The dinners end up being around four hours long, and there are tons of laughs. It’s something I look forward to every year because [we] feel like family and [it] makes me appreciate my girls that much more. The time we get to spend together is a memory I’ll cherish for a lifetime.”

This holiday season, Garcia is dreaming of wrapping (and unwrapping) Cartier. “Right now, I’m obsessed with iconic timepieces. The Panthère de Cartier Watch and Love Bracelet are pieces I’ll wear again and again and again.”
