16 Shampoos and Conditioners That Will Make Your Hair Smell Ridiculously Good

I might be generalizing here, but I don’t think there are a lot of us who look forward to washday often. Special shout-out to those with thick, curly hair—washday can feel like a downright nightmare if you’re having one of *those* weeks. But for me, there’s always a silver lining. If I can at least make washing my hair into a spa experience, that gives me a bit more motivation. Every good spa experience starts with the amazing scent of the products used right? So why not go for a shampoo-and-conditioner set that delivers what your hair needs while also smelling divine?

I asked the rest of WWW’s beauty team to reveal the richest aromas they have in that realm. Luckily, we have a variety of hair types on the team, so there are picks for everyone. Keep scrolling for our faves.

Both of our WWW beauty directors, Erin Jahns and Caitie Schlisserman, can’t get enough of Gisou’s rich,  honey-infused shampoo and conditioner. It gently cleanses and hydrates the hair with star ingredients like argan oil, Mirsalehi honey, and “keramatch” technology, which is a hydrolyzed pea protein that helps prevent future damage. Most importantly, they wouldn’t stop raving about how incredible each smells. It does include some artificial fragrance. That can go either way for me, but since both of our beauty directors vouch for it, I’d definitely give it a try.

WWW beauty editor Katie Berohn loves this strengthening set from Sol de Janeiro. Obviously, she loves that it contains powerhouse strand-building ingredients like Brazil nut, coconut oil, cupuaçu butter, and buriti fruit oil, but it’s the delicious (and classic) Sol de Janeiro scent that she keeps coming back for. The soft, warm scent almost smells like vanilla, caramel, and a hefty dose of happiness.

Berohn also loves this body- and shine-delivering set from R+Co. You can thank ingredients like juniper berry extract for giving it its delicious aroma. On top of that, it contains hydrating glycerin, panthenol, and marigold flower extract to hydrate a dry scalp and remove excess flaking.

This is one of my all-time-favorite shampoo-and-conditioning sets for many reasons, but one of the main ones is how good it smells. Once you apply the milky hair cleanser, you’re hit with unexpected notes that smell dangerously close to Froot Loops. I always look forward to washing my hair for that reason, and you won’t want to miss out on the brand’s hair oil ($24) either. It delivers serious hydration and smells even more amazing (if that’s possible).

Associate beauty editor Kaitlyn McLintock loves Ouai’s set for fine hair. With ingredients like biotin, chia seed oil, and hydrolyzed keratin, it adds volume, shine, and essential nutrients to each strand. It’s the ultimate multitasker, and she also couldn’t stress enough how good it smells.

Another rec from Jahns and Schlisserman, this set from Oribe is bound to make you say, “Mmm,” when you open it. It rejuvenates the hair and repairs it with Oribe’s signature and bio-restorative complexes. There’s a touch of fragrance that just adds to the experience and isn’t overpowering.

Assistant beauty editor Maya Thomas swears Camille Rose offerings are the best-smelling items in her rotation. I also back Camille Rose products for curly hair. They deliver results like no other on the market. If you like warm, spicy, and earthy scents, opt for the Sweet Ginger Cleansing Rinse. Pair it with the brand’s Moroccan Pear Conditioning Custard for a beautifully harmonious scent blend.

McLintock describes the scent of this nourishing shampoo and conditioner as lightly citrus but seriously heavenly. In addition to that, it delivers a high dose of antioxidants, white truffle, and marula oil to replenish hydration levels throughout the day. Biotin and vanilla bean also help encourage hair growth over time.
