Things Mara Brock Akil did: THAT! Honestly, this show shaped me into the woman that I am today – Joan, Maya, Lynn, and Toni were queens way ahead of their time. The show gave us a young Tracee Ellis Ross, which, in itself, was a blessing!! She had a whole-ass career before Black-ish. This show was the black Sex and the City that we needed and could ~actually~ relate to. The fact that this isn’t streaming anywhere is a crime against humanity.
