11 Celebrities That Are Making Wearing Lingerie as Clothes a Thing

Regardless of what your stance is about wearing lingerie out in public, the general consensus among many fashion-minded celebrities is that it’s no longer taboo—although some would argue that it hasn’t been taboo in quite some time (cue Madonna in her cone bra while on tour in 1990).

If you happened to peruse our roundup of Met Gala after-party looks, you’re well aware that the unofficial overarching theme was lingerie-inspired looks. In some cases, the attendees looked as though they were wearing actual lingerie. We found plenty of recent instances of celebrities embracing this trend—usually for nights out but sometimes even during the day.

Obviously, the key to wearing lingerie-inspired looks out in the world is to ground them with things like jeans and to wear them with shoes that don’t resemble bedroom slippers. Scroll on to see how stylish women such as Ashley Graham, Hailey Bieber, and Chrissy Teigen wear these risky pieces, and shop our favorite lingerie-inspired items.
