A Michigan woman was forced to quarantine in an airplane bathroom for five hours after she tested positive while in the air.
Marisa Fotieo took the rapid test when her throat started feeling sore, Today reports. The flight had about 150 people who traveled from Chicago to Reykjavik, Iceland on Dec. 20.
“I just took my rapid test and I brought it into the bathroom, and within what felt like two seconds there were two lines,” Fotieo told Today. meaning it was positive. “My biggest fear was giving it to [the passengers].”
Fotieo posted her quarantine on TikTok. “Shout out to @Icelandair for my VIP quarantine quarters,” she captioned the video.
She says a flight attendant checked on her throughout the flight and they brought her food and drinks, to eat in the bathroom. The attendant also sent her flowers because she was going to be alone for Christmas.
“It was so heartfelt, and she’s just an angel,” Fotieo told she said.
