This “Dated” Boot Trend is Back–Here's How to Make it Work for 2024

We’re officially in the depths of boot season (thankfully). From kitten-heel ankle boots and pointed-toe mid-calf iterations to shearling-lined UGGs, boots are the go-to slip-on footwear in the colder months. Guaranteed to add a certain edge to your outfit, whilst also keeping your feet warm, this season we’re talking about biker boots, once again.

We’re welcoming them back into the spotlight and introducing the once dated boot (shoutout to those that remember them from 2010) to our autumn-winter wardrobe. Whilst influencers paired the footwear style with slip midi skirts, light linen and blazers back in the warmer months; now, biker boots are taking a grungier autumnal approach as they are styled amongst knitted layers, denim jeans and leather jackets.

The hint is in the name, the style, which was once popular amongst motorcyclists, is known for its worn vintage look and utilitarian embellishments. After making a short-lived appearance in the 2010s, the resurgence of the trend all started with MiuMiu’s AW22 runway as they debuted their now-iconic ‘Sienna’ biker boot. Sporting an array of textures, studs, buckles and harness straps, the fashion house’s design oozes character and charm, so it’s no surprise that the fashion world followed suit.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve had your eye on some biker boots for a while now. From Miu Miu’s iconic style, of course, to Vagabond’s widely loved pair, keep scrolling to see the best options on the market.

Style Notes: We can always count on Elsa to provide us with seasonal on-trend outfit inspiration. She pairs her Miu Miu biker boots with a vintage-esque leather jacket and washed straight-leg jeans. Cosy yet chic.

Style Notes: Showcasing the boots in all their glory, Kay styles hers perfectly for the autumnal months with a checked blazer and mini skirt co-ord. Take on the bitter weather by popping on a chunky roll-neck knit and a pair of sheer tights underneath.

Style Notes: Similarly, Ruby sports her blazer and biker boot duo with a monochrome midi skirt – a more suitable option for the colder months.

Style Notes: Channelling the vibrant fashion of the 70s, April doubles down on the biker trend with her brown suede boots and matching suede jacket, layered over tonal patterned knits.

Style Notes: Biker boots go hand-in-hand with leggings. Steal Marilyn’s off-duty style with slinky base layers and a faded finish leather jacket, topped off with an abundance of accessories.

It’s none other than Miu Miu’s trendsetting Sienna biker boot.

This H&M number has been a fan-favourite of those shopping the trend – they also get plus points for being affordable.

A moment for these suede Sienna’s, please.

I’m in awe of this stunning khaki green shade.

Nothing screams biker boot more than a worn, distressed finish and Mango have perfected just that.

Speaking of khaki, Jigsaw have brought this glossed leather option to the table and they’re perfect for the season ahead.

For those wanting a more minimalist version of the trend, this pair from & Other Stories strips back the moto embellishments.

The Jimmy Choo Biker II is timelessly understated, style with a midi dress and shearling gilet or dress down with wide-leg jeans and a crew neck jumper.

Throw on a relaxed fit blazer, roll-neck knit and leather midi skirt and your Pinterest board outfit is complete!

I can see these easily being styled in a variety of ways from day-to-night.
