The invites for the holiday season are pouring in. Office parties, holiday events, and my favorite of the season: New Year’s Eve. I just love it. For one, you get to get dressed up (usually sparkles are involved), you spend it with your friends, and there’s always a great party with champagne. What’s not to love? And, of course, there’s that feeling in the air of newness and the possibilities to come. For a few moments, you can blissfully imagine the version of you that will emerge in the New Year. The version that actually works out and wakes up earlier and makes better decisions with finances, whether those resolutions come to fruition is yet to be determined, but at least on New Year’s Eve, you can feel like it definitely will.
When planning my New Year’s Eve this year, the first thing that came to mind was what I plan on wearing. You have to bring in the New Year in style—I mean, that’s the best way to set the tone for your best year yet if you ask me. So I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect look for NYE, and I think I’ve found five looks that are so good that it’s going to be hard for me to decide which one to choose.
Keep scrolling to see which five chic party looks I’m eyeing for this year.
Nothing says party like a great sequin moment. Hot pink is a great option if you’re trying to avoid the cliche green, red, and metallic shades for the holiday season. I wore this sparkly Amanda Uprichard dress to a holiday event last week and felt so fun in this look.
When it comes to metallic looks, I tend to lean towards the gold side of things. I think it’s such a pretty color that often scares people when shopping, but don’t be scared. It’s okay to be bold. Embrace it.
Sometimes you just have to go with a classic sexy look. You can never go wrong with a great black dress that is all about cutouts and silhouette.
For those of us who just don’t feel like wearing a dress, a chic jumpsuit is always a great option. This YSL catsuit on Emma Leger is so good. I’m obsessed.
There’s something about a feathery moment that feels very Roaring Twenties to me. I’m definitely going to be trying out a feathery look for a party this season.
