Something that was impossible to ignore among the shades of burgundy and chocolate brown in the F/W 21 collections was the presence of lavender. It may seem odd that it’s a key color trend for fall, but that makes it even cooler. In addition to the runway (and lookbook) proof we got earlier this year when the collections debuted, there’s now further evidence that lavender is on its way to becoming a key color trend for the next few years. (And if you follow the upcoming trends, you probably already know this and are one stylish person.)
According to a press release just sent out by the trend forecasters at WGSN and the color experts at Coloro, 2023’s Color of the Year (yes, they think way ahead) is Digital Lavender. It represents “wellness and digital escapism”. They say, “Digital Lavender is a gender-inclusive color that is already established in the youth market, and we expect it will broaden into all fashion product categories by 2023.” As someone who has been obsessed with lavender since the day of my birth, I couldn’t think of better color-related news. If you’re on board too, keep scrolling to see a few of the F/W 21 collections it was spotted in, and shop the best lavender pieces already on the market.
Next up, 6 color trends everyone will wear this spring, according to a Pantone expert.
