The Exceptionally Cool Designer Collection Editors Are Coveting for Autumn

The Collection is a series that highlights the latest collections from our favourite luxury brands, be it a seasonal capsule, an exclusive collab, or anything in between. We’ll include everything you need to know about each new launch, including a curated list of our favourite pieces.

I may be sad that summer is over, but there’s no season that gets me giddy quite like autumn does. As soon as September hits, I start spotting my favourite runway pieces from February’s shows on the actual city streets. I’ve taken an unhealthy amount of screenshots of Fashion Week looks that I want to copy this season, but there’s one show that I’ve been eagerly waiting to shop—and the day is finally here.

When I tell you that Maison Valentino Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli single-handedly changed my vision for my autumn wardrobe, I’m not exaggerating. I’m ready to revamp my lineup of basics and neutrals with studs and punk-inspired pieces all thanks to the Valentino Garavani Rockstud collection. The Rockstud has been a staple since it was first introduced in 2010, but in the Black Tie runway show, the detailing was more prominent than ever on everything from luxe ballerinas to leather shoulder bags. Keep scrolling to see the key pieces from this unmissable collection.

The fashion set has declared this the year of the flat shoe, and if we’re ranking styles, ballet flats take the cake. Valentino Garavani’s Rockstud Satin Ballerina seamlessly combines an easy-to-wear staple with showstopping elements. (Can you even with this ankle strap?) It’s a shoe you can simply throw on with jeans and a white button-down for a day at the office, or make it the star of the show with a simple black minidress for date night. I love the versatility.

Every autumn wardrobe needs a good boot—I don’t make the rules. The Valentino Garavani M-Way Rockstud combat boots are a foolproof way to step up your style. This gender-neutral boot features a square-shaped toe, and one version of this design even sports feather details sprouting from the top of the boot. (Yes, you read that right. And somehow it works.) The wearable Couture is incredibly fun and will earn you major compliments.

You’ve seen the Rockstud on Valentino Garavani handbags before, but this entirely new design is not one to miss. Two new sizes (including the cutest little mini) made their way into the family, and both feature bold lines, tone-on-tone studs, sculpted edges, and a double shoulder strap. It’s timeless yet contemporary, and I already know I’ll be passing it down to my future daughter.
