Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has settled in a lawsuit that accused him of stealing his song “Gooba.”
According to court documents obtained by Complex,
“The settlement in principle is conditioned on and subject to the parties entering into a written settlement agreement approved and signed by the parties,” the settlement reads. “The parties anticipate that the written settlement agreement will be finalized within the next forty-five (45) days and that a stipulation of dismissal of the entire case, with a waiver of fees and costs, will be filed shortly thereafter.”
A producer sued the rapper and his label saying the song copied the melody, structure, and overall composition of their 2018 song “Regular.” Producer Beat Demons from Texas said the track is a ‘mirror’ of their song “Regular.”
“GOOBA” was released n April 2020. The song reached number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100. 6ixine has not spoken out about the decision to settle this lawsuit.
