There are a few new trends that have piqued our interest of late. Mary janes, of course, have had a triumphant return to style, biker boots are stomping their way down every city street and leather bomber jackets are shielding the most stylish from the changeable British weather. Another trend we’ve seen gain traction in recent weeks that we can see taking off in the same way is very seasonally apt, but otherwise unexpected: brown denim.
Sofia Richie Grainge wore The Row’s Ness cotton-blend corduroy jacket with its Eglitta trousers. Spotted on Sofia Richie Grainge and a sea of influencers including Sylvie Mus, Emily Wells and Yaminah Mayo, the very autumnal shade is being subbed in for classic blue and fresh white jeans, styled up with blazers and heels and down with retro trainers.
Subtle brown shades can look the part too, as evidenced by Emily Wells. Giving double denim an autumnal twist, Richie Grainge paired her brown jeans with a tonal corduroy jacket and beige leather pumps from The Row. Sticking to her brown-on-brown theme, she completed her look with The Row’s ’90s leather shoulder bag and Saint Laurent sunglasses.
Richie Grainge called upon The Row for almost her entire transitional look, but stylist and influencer Sylvie Mus showed how the trend can be done in a far more affordable way, choosing a pair of brown Levi’s and pairing them with black, slingback kitten heels and a white shirt neatly tucked in. We told you—blue jeans can swapped out for a brown pair on almost any occasion.
Harder to find, but I’m also into this tie-dye interpretation. Whether you’re looking to inject some variation into your jeans collection or are keen to get stuck into autumn styling, shop our favourite brown jeans below.
