A former associate of R. Kelly’s has been sentenced to eight years in prison for an attempt to intimidate a potential witness in the trial against R. Kelly.
The authorities say, Michael Williams, a former publicist for Kelly, went to Florida in June 2020 and set fire to a car that was outside a home where the witness was staying. They say it was to scare her into not cooperating with the feds.
Williams’ attorney, Todd Spodek, said a sentence of five years would have been “sufficient but not greater than necessary in this case.”
AZRIEL CLARY BREAKS DOWN ON IG LIVE
In April, Azriel Clary, a former girlfriend and victim of Kelly said vehicle was torched last year after she decided to leave Kelly and speak out about what allegedly happened to her.
“I’ve literally never seen anyone post when they’ve been at there lowest. So, this is me at my lowest… Someone not only set my car on fire at 3am but they also made a gas line around my entire house, with intentions to burn my entire home down. It was something that was premeditated, but the fact that someone would go to that extreme to harm me is sickening,” Azriel said at the time of the fire.
