One of the men accused of killing rapper Pop Smoke has been denied bail.
Corey Walker, 20, is one of four suspects charged in Pop Smoke’s murder will remain in jail after prosecutors argued his case “was not applicable for bail based on the letter of the law.”
Walker and three others were arrested in July 2020, after he allegedly carried out an armed robbery of Pop Smoke’s Airbnb home, murdering him.
Pop Smoke was renting a home in the upscale Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles. But at around 4:30 AM, 2 men wearing hoodies and masks burst into the house.

Authorities told TMZ that the men fired multiple shots, striking and critically wounding Pop Smoke. The men then ran off – on foot.
Pop Smoke, real name Bashar Barakah Jackson, was just 20 years old. Pop was a rapper and songwriter. In April 2019, he released the song “Welcome to the Party”, the lead single of his debut mixtape Meet the Woo, which was released in July 2019.
