Pantone Just Proclaimed Peach as 2024's Key Colour—5 Shades It Looks Best With

Yesterday, Pantone announced its annual colour of year, showcasing a soft and palatable peach shade, dubbed Peach Fuzz. The soft shade is reminiscent of a warm sunset or a delicate flower. Cited by the company as “a cosy and comforting hue nurturing compassion and heartfelt kindness”, the tone bridges the bag between warmth and comfort with romance and sophistication.

The shade, annually decreed by Pantone as The Colour Of The Year, is said to capture the zeitgeist of the particular time. For its emphasis on calming and nurturing, the shade expresses an optimistic energy that we hope to see realised in the forthcoming year.

Whilst the warm colour feels very in tune with trends that have flourished within the interiors landscape, the fashion world had largely veered away from the soft tone, until recently.

This past September predicted that the fresh shade was on the rise, as brands such a Bottega Veneta and 16Arlington wove the colour into their collections, in natural wearable way that played into the gentle side of the calming colour.

Whilst fashion and styling is an entirely personal process, from my time monitoring trends and working with stylists, I can confidently suggest these colour pairings as an entry point to styling the newly trending tone. Read on to discover every way we’ll be styling the shade this season.

The runways instilled fresh styling inspiration, including rich colour pairings that work to ground the lighter tone. The Bottega Veneta runway, for example, showcased a deep merlot and soft peach pairing, for a harmonised outfit with edge of friction. When styling the gentle shade, our best advice is to veer away from colours that feel equally soft, for risk of washing out the look. Instead, the light shade comes to life when worn with a rich tone, elegant neutral or strong shade.
