Gift of Gab from the popular hip hop duo Blackalicious, has died at the age of 50, MTO News has confirmed.
Blackalicious ias an American hip-hop duo from Sacramento, California, made up of rapper Gift of Gab and DJ/producer Chief Xcel. They are noted for Gift of Gab’s often tongue-twisting, multisyllabic, complex rhymes.
The duo released four full-length albums: Nia in 1999, Blazing Arrow in 2002, The Craft in 2005, and Imani Vol. 1 in 2015. Gift of Gab died in June 2021.
But since their debut in the early 2000s, Gift of Gab – who was severely overweight – suffered from numerous health related issues – including a kidney failure and an organ transplant in 2020.

‘It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear brother, Timothy J. Parker a.k.a. The Gift of Gab,’ Quannum Projects said in a statement.
‘Tim peacefully departed this earth to be with our ancestors on Friday, June 18, 2021. He is survived by two brothers, one sister, many nieces and nephews, countless friends, and fans across the globe,’ the statement added.
MTO News confirmed that Gift Of Gab died of natural causes, according to Rolling Stone, adding that the rapper suffered from kidney failure and underwent weekly dialysis treatments until he received a kidney transplant in January 2020.
