Battle rapper Murda Mook was upset at Drake’s recent appearance at a URL event.
He accused the event of putting money over substance.
“Y’all n*ggas ain’t gonna make money like that. Like, y’all bugging. Stop. Stop it,” Mook said on Instagram Live.
“This is supposed to be for us — our culture. We lit. Y’all n*ggas running in here talking, ‘Smack let Drizzy be him today.’ N*gga come to one sh*t — ‘Yo you can be me.’ What? We just giving our shit up like that? Oh man, sh*t getting crazy out here… N*gga just let a n*gga just take the whole sh*t today.”
Last month, URL. announced that Murda Mook would no longer be battling on the SMACK/URL X OVO event, “Til Death Do Us Part.”
Drake inked a multi-year-partnership deal last year to help take URL worldwide.
“I’ve always loved URL and admired what Smack and his team have been able to create,” Drake said in a statement. “It just wasn’t easily accessible. It’s exciting to be in a position where I’m able to bring Caffeine to the table and help provide URL with the tools they need to elevate the viewing experience and make it more accessible to fans.”
