Metallics Will Be Everywhere in 2023—31 Pieces Sitting In My Cart

It’s almost that time to ring in the New Year, and if the runways have anything to say about it, 2023 will be all about metallics. I’m sure gold and silver immediately come to mind, but the shimmery trend comes in all sorts of other shades, from subtle slate blues to vivid purples. The metallic trend was spotted at shows like Tory Burch, Nensi Dojka, Bottega Veneta, Paco Rabanne, Valentino, Gucci, JW Anderson, Jason Wu—the list could go on and on.

The high-shine styles are great for festive holiday and New Year’s Eve parties, but you can (and should!) also wear them for more everyday occasions. Add an eye catching sparkly accessory to jazz up any look or opt for a whole head-to-toe ensemble to really stand out. Below, 29 metallic fashion finds that I have a serious eye on, from outerwear to handbags and everything in between. Warning: Prepare to be blinded by some seriously beautiful pieces.

Shimmery outerwear (like this style seen at Tory Burch) guarantees that all eyes will be on you. When the temperatures call for it, you can wear the trend with a puffer or a trench coat. Throw on a sequin blazer or a collarless jacket over a T-shirt or a dress to jazz up your ensemble with one easy addition.

Talk about a party skirt! This style seen on the runway at Nensi Dojka is so sophisticated. The trend carries over into pants, shorts, jeans, minis—really any kind of bottoms you want to throw on. Below are a couple that really stand out.

Once reserved for those 2 a.m. kind of nights, the “going out” top is now a staple, and the grommet-covered and signature chainmail looks sent down the Paco Rabanne runway have never been more of-the-moment. You don’t even have to have eventful evening plans to wear these dramatic styles.

For a head-to-toe metallic look, opt for a dress or a matching set to really ramp up the sparkle. Take a cue from this gold ensemble at Altuzarra and contrast the high shine with some black sneakers or fully lean in and add some gold heels.

Amp up a casual ‘fit with some metallic shoes and/or a purse. If you want your accessories to be the focal point, keep scrolling for some drool-worthy picks below.
