Mary Cosby has revealed that she joined the cast of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City because God told her to.
“I don’t do anything that I don’t feel like God called me to do. And I think that God put me on there because there’s not a lot of people like me that are just completely in love with God, and I’m a woman of faith. I don’t know. And I’m a woman of fashion, so,” she said on Watch What Happens Live.

Mary faced some backlash after it was revealed that she married her step-grandfather so that she could hold on to her grandmother’s inheritance.
“I trusted every word. If she managed to bring this church this far, then she had to be right. And look at my life,” she said at the time.
“It took us two years to actually marry,” Mary told castmate Heather. “I had to be certain. I started to pray myself, I started to seek high help myself. When I did that, I felt peace with it, so I married him. I chose what the man upstairs told me to do.”
