Julia Louis-Dreyfus Steps on Huge Rake in MSNBC Appearance

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has more in common with Vice President Kamala Harris than you think.

Yes, the “Seinfeld” alum played a clueless Vice President on HBO’s “Veep.”

The similarities proved so uncanny even the far-Left “Daily Show” drew a direct comparison between the two.

And the show wasn’t alone. The Ruthless Variety Progrum also hilariously connected the pair.

The actress recently admitted she doesn’t know much about political matters during a chatty appearance on MSNBC. If you’ve heard Harris talk about the core issues facing voters this year you know her political acumen is akin to a high school dropout.

That helps explain why she recoils from interview mics.

Louis-Dreyfus made that revealing admission on the far-Left network. It hardly builds confidence in the Celebrity Brand, a notion that has taken some body blows of late. Recently, NBC News leaned into the matter, suggesting stars are doing more harm than good with their election year endorsements.

The courting of celebrity endorsements is a long-running tradition in presidential politics and one that Democrats generally win. But in the process, Democrats can open themselves up to an easy line of attack from Republicans: Democrats cater to Hollywood, not average Americans.

The actress’ confession isn’t helping her cause.

“I’m not a politician. I’m not an expert on the various issues that we’re up against today.”

And why should we care what you say again?

She didn’t stop there.

“But I do feel strongly who our leaders should be as an American citizen and would really like it if the discourse could become kinder and more effective. And I think that will be the case with Kamala Harris.”

Has she been awake the past year? How about the last eight?

President Donald Trump is no shrinking violent. And, at times, his crude rhetoric has lowered the bar on civil discourse. No doubt.

Hollywood responded by making it much, much worse. Let’s start with star after star comparing Trump to Hitler. That started at the dawn of Trump’s political career and never let up.

Celebrities took turns pining for his death, either via garish pop culture offerings or in plain English.

They’ve dubbed him an existential threat to our nation, much like many corporate media journalists have done. Stars couldn’t even rally against the not one but two attempts on Trump’s life.

A few celebrities, like Rosie O’Donnell and John Leguizamo, spun crazed conspiracy theories around those attacks.

Louis-Dreyfus, to her credit, has stuck to standard-issue talking points during the current election cycle. Trump bad. Harris good.

That’s fine, even if it she can’t explain how Harris will right the ship that is the S.S. America.

Still, Team Harris has done nothing to lower the heat on political rhetoric. She hasn’t condemned talk of Trump representing “the end of democracy.” Her Vice Presidential choice, Gov. Tim Walz, attacked GOP Vice Presidential candidate J.D. Vance by peddling a vile smear involving him and a couch shortly after Harris selected him.

Nor has Harris publicly worried that the Left’s “Trump is Hitler” drumbeat may be responsible for one of the two assassination attempts.

Or both.

If you believe the media and Hollywood, you might think picking up a weapon is the most patriotic thing to do.

Louis-Dreyfus once again is channeling Harris. She hasn’t condemned the hateful rhetoric from her own side. Nor has she mocked corporate media types who immediately blamed Trump for the second assassination attempt.

She certainly hasn’t said anything publicly about Hollywood’s cruel, relentless attacks on Trump.

The Emmy winner remains a wildly gifted star with the free speech rights to say what she pleases. And we have an obligation to call out her blazing hypocrisy.
