The judge overseeing the R. Kelly case in New York has put one of his attorneys of blast for referring to two of his alleged victims as “girls.”
Judge Ann Donnelly stopped defense lawyer Nicole Blank Becker in her tracks when she called two women involved in the case “girls.”
The judge told Becker to refer to the people she was talking about as “women.” But Becker did it again.
R. KELLY’S INFAMOUS INTERVIEW
“It is 2021. We are talking about women in their 20s,” the judge said according to New York Daily News.
“Sorry judge. It’s been two years,” said Becker.
“They were women then too,” Donnelly said.
Kelly is charged with commanding an enterprise of managers, bodyguards and other employees who helped him recruit women and underage girls for sex. Federal prosecutors say Kelly picked out his alleged victims at his concerts and other venues and arranged for them to travel to see Kelly.
Kelly faced similar charges in 2002 for child pornography in Chicago. He was acquitted in that case in 2008. The disgraced singer is again, denying all of the charges against him. He says his alleged victims are liars.
