I Tried On the Zara Pieces That Are About to Be Everywhere in Spring—See My Pics

Welcome to The Great Try-On. We’re gearing up for spring, and that includes freshening up our wardrobes with some new pieces. We got to try on some of the best spring pieces from some of your favorite brands and documented it all from our at-home dressing rooms so that you can see how they actually look IRL. We hope that our photos and candid reviews will help you shop for spring wardrobe builders and trend-forward pieces that you’ll wear over and over this season and beyond.

I’m not going to lie. One of the highlights of my workweek is when I get to peruse Zara’s site for new arrivals. There’s nothing as sartorially thrilling as finding an affordable gem that is trend-forward and looks luxe. Not to mention, the brand is always full of fresh and unique styling ideas to get my sartorial juices flowing! So you can imagine my excitement when I got to try on a handful of pieces from its recent spring collection for The Great Try-On. Included in the mix are of-the-moment dresses, trendy accessories, chic spring knits, and elevated basics that are perfect for the new season. Along with all my mirror selfies, I’m sharing reviews on my eight favorite pieces that I had the pleasure of trying. Find out why they’re great, and shop all of my Zara favorites for fall below.

My Review: I am utterly obsessed with this top. Zara jumped on this color trend quickly, and it’s one of the most popular hues I’ve seen on the runways and street style set in 2023. Not only is the color striking, but the silhouette with its asymmetric neckline also feels modern and elevated. It looks great paired with relaxed blue jeans or beige tailored trousers. And honestly, you can’t beat the price at $26!

My Review: After seeing this sleek tailored blazer on a number of fashion people on Instagram, I knew I had to try it. Nipped-in blazers are having a major moment this season, and this one is giving serious Dior vibes. The deep hue exudes sophistication. I like styling the fitted silhouette with loose jeans for a look that feels fresh and modern.

My Review: I still can’t get over how luxe this silky-satin midi dress looks. I love the high-neck midi silhouette with its relaxed fit. But it’s the icy blue that’s really winning my heart—such a striking and trend-forward color. While this is easy to dress up for a wedding or event, it would also look super cool with a pair of sneakers, a casual bomber jacket, and a sweater tied around the waist. The styling options are endless.

My Review: If you know me well, you will know how much I love a good striped knit, especially for the spring season. I happen to already own quite a few striped sweaters from Zara, but this new cardigan really caught my eye. Perhaps it was because of its easy and effortless silhouette or the fact that it’s so darn versatile. It actually looks even better in person, and the fabric is surprisingly soft and sumptuous.

My Review: Cute ballet flats have been on my wish list for a while now, and this $50 pair from Zara is very much a winner for me. They are comfortable and versatile and will look charming with everything from straight-leg jeans to miniskirts. If you’re in between sizes, I recommend sizing up so you can style them with calf-length socks to really lean into the balletcore look.

My Review: I’m loving all the draping and ruching that is happening this season, and this chic white dress is the perfect way to tap into the trend. It feels unique and different from all the other white spring and summer dresses I own, and it certainly hugs in all the right places.

My Review: If you’re looking to get in a spring state of mind, these pants will happily oblige! They feel like the breath of fresh air my wardrobe needs after a season full of black, gray, and beige outfits. They have an easy straight-leg fit—best worn with flat sandals, sneakers, or slingbacks (in silver if you want to be really on-trend). I recommend going for a larger size if you want to wear them lower on the hips.

My Review: Silver accessories are huge this spring, and Zara has a great selection of glistening shoes and bags that nail the trend. This shoulder bag is one of my favorites. It’s the perfect minimal shape and will elevate even the most casual jeans-and-a-tee outfits.
