I Said I’d Never Wear This Extroverted Color But I Guess I Lied

I’m a lot of things but an extrovert definitely isn’t one of them. But looking at some of the things I wear, you might not know it. I’m certainly up for trying a bold trend from time to time (especially in the form of an accessory) but I tend to prefer neutral and pastel colors. That said, I love a color trend.

When I first noticed signs of the most obvious color trend on the S/S 22 runways, I was doubtful that it was for me, but now that it’s all over my Instagram feed and all over the new arrivals pages of most of my favorite retailers, and I’ve had some time to review the spring runways, I have to admit that I’ve been persuaded to add a few bright, juicy orange pieces to my wardrobe. The most persuasive example was the gorgeous orange Prada look below.

Good, right? This season, the shade of orange that’s trending is a true orange. Forget tangerine or rust (for the time being, at least)—this orange is the color of the primary-colored marker you used when you were five. Whether you’re ready for a full orange look à la the Proenza Schouler look below, or just a pop of orange via an accessory (à la the Bottega Veneta look below), let the following outfits and shoppable items be your extroverted color guide.

This beloved shirt is practically a legend.

I have this in black and it’s such a good sweater.

As trendy as it gets right now.

Just add a white T-shirt.

This easy dress would work for so many occasions.

Yes, Birkenstock!

This is going to sell out any day now.

Time to plan a vacation.

If these aren’t comfortable than I don’t know what comfort is.

I’m tempted to pair this with orange accessories.

It’s the subtle cut-outs for me.

By Far does it again.

Don’t wait for this to sell out.

Fluffier than an Orange Julius.

$36 well spent.

Currently trying to think of an occasion to wear this to.
