Spring trends! Is it really that time of year already?! We’re just around the mid-February mark, and while temperatures are still chill and the days are still short, we’ve officially glimpsed the light at the end of the tunnel, where brighter, lighter, and warmer days lay just ahead. And while we’ve already devoted time to predicting some of 2021’s biggest makeup trends as a whole, we thought we’d execute a miniature trend report for spring 2021 in particular.
Come spring, we often think of fresh skin, bright color, and whimsical finishes, but given the nature of our world this year (masks, more time indoors… you know the drill), the types of trends we’re used to seeing this time of year might be a little different. So I reached out to Hailey Bieber’s makeup artist, Denika Bedrossian, to gather her insight into which makeup trends might start to fizzle as we emerge into spring and which trends will start to sparkle.
“You know, I think everyone was trying to get creative with their makeup this past year because of how often we’re wearing masks,” notes Bedrossian. “That very sharp, carved-crease eye makeup became a huge trend on social media and across the industry, but I feel like that’s starting to die down a bit. We’re all ready for sunlight and clean, lightweight products.”
Below, Bedrossian is sharing the four biggest makeup trends to expect for spring 2021 in addition to her top tips and product recommendations for achieving each look. Keep scrolling!
